Dehradun News :A illegal tomb built on government land at the prestigious Doon Hospital in Dehradun was demolished by the Dhami government of Uttarakhand with a bulldozer. This action was taken on the basis of administrative inquiry at night after a complaint lodged on the CM Helpline Portal. The incident not only caught the attention of the local people, but also underlined the government's strict policy against illegal occupation of government land. Let us understand this whole matter in detail.

Case started with complaint

Pankaj Gupta, a resident of Rishikesh, had filed a complaint of illegal tomb in Doon Hospital campus on the CM Helpline Portal. His complaint said that this tomb was built on government land without any permission. Taking this complaint seriously, the District Magistrate of Dehradun ordered an inquiry. Several departments like Revenue Department, Municipal Corporation, Public Works Department (PWD), and Doon Hospital Administration attended the investigation.

During the investigation, the question arose whether this tomb is valid? Was any permission taken for its construction? And is this structure really built on government land? All these points were closely investigated. A detailed report in this matter was also sought from the hospital administration. Investigations made it clear that the tomb was completely illegal and no valid documents were present for its construction. After this, notice was issued to Khadim of Mazar.

Superstition and illegal business stronghold

There were many discussions among the local people about this tomb in the Doon Hospital campus. Some considered it to be a tomb of a fakir, while some saw it as other religious places. Khadim of Mazar used to go to the hospitalized patients and their families and promote superstition.

They would motivate people to pray on the tomb, causing their personal business. This not only caused problems to the patients, but the hospital administration was also plagued by this illegal activity. It is said that earlier also the hospital administration had demanded the removal of this tomb from the government. The administration considered it a serious problem due to disruption of patients' treatment and disorder in the premises. However, till now no concrete action was taken on it.

Overnight bulldozer action

After the investigation was completed, the administration took fast steps. Late night Doon Hospital Marg was sealed and police force was deployed. The joint team of the Municipal Corporation, Public Works Department, District Administration and Hospital Administration together demolished the tomb with a bulldozer. The special thing is that after demolition, no religious remains were found in the debris, making it more clear that the structure was completely illegal.

Message of government's strict policy

This action not only reflects the strict policy of the Dhami government against illegal occupation, but also shows how seriously the complaints of the public are being taken. From the complaint lodged through the CM Helpline portal to quick action, the whole matter is an example of transparency and accountability of the Uttarakhand government.

This action has been welcomed by the residents of Dehradun. Local people say that illegal occupation of government land is not only a violation of law, but it also affects public facilities. Especially in important health centers like Doon Hospital, such activities can cause trouble for the patients.
