With a letter from the Union Ministry of Agriculture, the names of many farmers in Madhya Pradesh may be out of the ‘Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. The Ministry of Agriculture has said that such farmers should be trimmed who are husband and wife and both are taking advantage of Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. The names of such husband and wife farmers should be removed from the portal before the next installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi. The Union Ministry of Agriculture is the minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan.

In many states of the country including Madhya Pradesh, both husband and wife of the same family are taking advantage of this scheme. On the basis of the letter of the Union Ministry of Agriculture, the Commissioner Land Records has written a letter to all the District Magistrates asking the husband and wife to take the name ineligible with the portal. It was told that the next installment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi is likely to come in the first week of June. Earlier, the portal should be declared ineligible. Till the investigation is not completed and the amount taken is adjusted, such families will not be given the next installment. That is, the amount that has been taken will have to be given back. However, scrutiny has been done many times in MP. An official of the State Agriculture Ministry was told that the husband and wife who took advantage of the Kisan Samman Nidhi are not both. But women who are the only waris of their ancestral property, such women are definitely eligible for Kisan Samman Nidhi.
