Former English batter Michael Vaughan mocked India's desperation on the field and made a witty tweet saying he had approached the Indian team to offer himself as a fielding coach, but the team denied. Notably, India, most importantly Yashasvi Jaiswal has struggled horribly, dropping four catches in the match. Michael Vaughan posted on X (formerly twitter) handle saying,

"Just to let you all know I have offered myself to India as a fielding coach .. My academy does a roaring trade."

India has been horrible on the field. Dropping catches and unbelievable misfields cost the team huge runs on the board and the weak bowling lineup could not defend the score against the English. Notably, T. Dilip has been reappointed as the fielding coach of the team, but on a temporary basic after a failed search for some overseas coach.

England Win by 5 Wickets in Thrilling Run Chase

England sealed a 5-wicket victory in a high-scoring Test at Headingley, chasing down 371 in the fourth innings. Ben Duckett led the charge with a stunning 149, supported by Zak Crawley (65) and Joe Root’s unbeaten 53. Jamie Smith (44*) ensured a smooth finish after a few mid-innings hiccups.

Earlier, India had piled up 471 in the first innings with centuries from Shubman Gill (147) and Rishabh Pant (134), while England responded with 465, thanks to Ollie Pope’s 106 and Harry Brook’s 99. Jasprit Bumrah starred with 5 wickets. In the second innings, KL Rahul (137) and Pant (118) powered India to 364, setting England a tough target.

India’s bowlers, especially Prasidh Krishna and Shardul Thakur, struck at intervals, but couldn’t defend the total. England’s clinical and composed batting ensured they crossed the line, wrapping up a classic Test match with resilience and flair.
