How was the weather in the last 24 hours
On July 2, light to moderate rain was recorded at many places in the south-western, north-western and north-eastern districts of Bihar. At some places, strong winds also blew along with thunderstorms. There was not much fluctuation in temperature and in most districts the maximum temperature was between 32-36 degrees and the minimum temperature was between 24-28 degrees Celsius. Especially good rain was recorded in Gaya, Aurangabad and Rohtas, which made the weather pleasant.
Today’s weather and alert districts
Today, on July 3, there is a possibility of thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds with a speed of 30–40 km/hr at one or two places in most districts of the state. The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rainfall alert for Kaimur, Rohtas, Katihar and Kishanganj districts. Waterlogging, falling of trees or lightning- incidents may occur in these districts, so people need to be alert.
Forecast for the next two days
On July 4, heavy rains are likely to continue again in most districts of the state. Heavy rains are expected especially in Jamui, Nawada, Sheikhpura, Kaimur, Rohtas, Gaya and Aurangabad. On July 5, heavy rains may occur again at one or two places in Nawada, Kaimur, Rohtas, Gaya and Aurangabad districts. Along with this, heavy rains with thunder may also occur in parts of northern and eastern Bihar.
Monsoon conditions
According to the Meteorological Department, currently the monsoon trough line is extending from Bikaner, Sikar, Datia, Siddhi, Purulia to the east-central Bay of Bengal. Apart from this, the cyclonic circulation formed in Jharkhand and surrounding areas is also bringing moisture to Bihar. Due to these conditions, there is a possibility of good rain in Bihar for the next few days and the monsoon is active in the entire state.

The department has warned that heavy rainfall may increase the water level of rivers and waterlogging may occur in low-lying areas. Strong winds may damage trees, electric poles or kutcha houses. People have been advised to avoid going to open fields, under trees or waterlogged areas. Farmers have been asked to avoid going to the fields during rain and postpone spraying of pesticides or fertilizers for the time being. Cattle keepers have also been advised to keep the animals in a safe place.
