A beloved expert from The Repair Shop has revealed an exciting new venture beyond theBBC programme.
Dominic Chinea has expressed his enthusiasm about his latest television opportunity, with filming already commenced alongside his family relocation.
The 39-year-old, who joined the Repair Shop in 2017, previously disclosed plans to move from Kent to Cornwall with his wife Maria Chinea and their canine companion Wendy.
This week brought confirmation that he will feature in the fresh factual programme Dom Chinea's Cornish Workshop for UandYESTERDAY channel and its streaming service U.
Production is currently under way for the five-episode series, set to broadcast across the UK next year, reports The Mirror.
The programme promises to chronicle Dom as he "carves out a new life" in Cornwall following his purchase of a "rundown" farmhouse complete with two acres of land.
The estate boasts a substantial agricultural barn destined to become his Cornish Workshop.
Audiences will witness Dom tackling automotive, engineering and construction tasks whilst lending assistance to neighbours within his fresh community, including supporting the local church with their bells and crafting a bespoke ice cream van for a resident.
Each instalment reportedly "packs big and little stories" as Dominic transforms the ancient barn into his new workspace, with Sam Lovegrove providing support throughout the series alongside various local tradespeople.
Dom excitedly declared in a statement: "I'm so excited by the projects we've got going on. But on top of the engineering, I've also got to get my Cornish workshop built and weatherproof before the autumn storms hit. There's a lot of pressure!"
This announcement follows Dominic's recent revelation about his move to Cornwall. Just weeks earlier, he disclosed that "a lot has changed" in his life and delved into details about the relocation in a Q&A video posted on his YouTube channel.
In the video, which was uploaded to his channel, Dominic responded to an inquiry about his decision to move with his family, simply stating: "Why not?"
He then discussed the advantages of his new property in Cornwall, including the space it offers.
Dominic shared: "Moving to Cornwall has meant I've got the house, a lovely field that I can turn into a nice garden, and most importantly a big barn that is now mine, that is my workshop."
The Repair Shop star further explained that unlike his previous arrangement in Kent, where he rented his workshop, the new setup belongs to him.
He told his audience: "Previously, I rented my old workshop, and every month was giving a lot of money to a landlord to rent the space. Now it's my space, and whatever I do to it, it's mine, and that is enough of a reason for me."
