Lucknow. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday reviewed the progress of Uttar Pradesh due to Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) based on global standards at a high -level meeting at his government residence in Lucknow. The Chief Minister said that as a result of public welfare schemes run by the UP government and their effective implementation in the last years, the state has made concrete progress in every sphere of sustainable development. This achievement is not only a matter of score, but also confirms the change that reached the last person of the society.
Schemes run by the UP government, such as… Har Ghar Jal Yojana, Har Ghar Electricity Scheme, Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangla Yojana, Nutrition Campaign, Mukhyamantri Arogya Yojana, Mission Shakti, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Mission Rejuvenation and ODOP have played a decisive role in realizing SDG goals at the ground level. Through these schemes, the life of the common man has changed and trust in the system has increased.
He said, the UP government is committed to the education of daughters and safety of women. Campaigns like Mission Shakti for women safety along with basic facilities in primary schools have given a new direction to social consciousness. Better access to health services and nutritional improvement in rural areas is commendable. Sustainable development goals should be implemented in mission mode at the ground level. Information about every scheme should be reached to the gram panchayats and it should be ensured that its influence reached the final beneficiary on time. The attainment of SDG goals is the common responsibility of every department, district and panchayat.
At the same time, during this time CM Yogi was informed that Uttar Pradesh, who was included in the ‘Performer’ category with 42 marks in the year 2018-19, has entered the ‘front runner’ states by gaining a score of 67 with an increase of 67 by 2023-24. In the year 2018-19, the 29th place in the SDG index #uttarpradesh has come up 18th in the year 2023-24. This progress is the biggest jump of any state in this period. This is the best performance performed by any one state in the SDG India Index.
