Clearwater (Florida), July 24, 2025 — Legendary WWE wrestler Hulk Hogan passed away on Thursday at the age of 71 after suffering a heart attack. According to reports, doctors were called to his residence in Clearwater, Florida, but despite efforts, the wrestling great could not be saved.
Born on August 11, 1953, in Augusta, Georgia, Hogan — whose real name was Terry Jean Bollea — carved a distinct identity in the world of professional wrestling. He grew up in Port Tampa, Florida, and developed a keen interest in wrestling from a young age. He began his professional wrestling career in August 1977 and soon earned the nickname ‘Hulk’.
In recent weeks, Hogan had undergone a major heart surgery in June, as per a US Weekly report. His wife Sky had recently dismissed rumours of him being in a coma, just weeks before his untimely demise.
Hogan’s iconic yellow-and-red attire became a trademark of his wrestling persona. During the 1980s, he emerged as one of WWE’s most celebrated superstars. Over his career, he won six WWE Championships and played a key role in making professional wrestling a household phenomenon in America and beyond.
Hogan’s sudden passing has left the global wrestling community in deep mourning. Fans, fellow wrestlers, and industry veterans are paying tribute to a man who was much more than just a performer — he was a symbol of charisma, power, and passion inside the ring.
