The Supreme Court on Thursday gave a major blow to former Delhi High Court judge Justice Yashwant Verma. The court has dismissed his petition as hearing hearing. Justice Verma had filed a petition demanding the report of the inquiry committee constituted in the case of getting a burnt cash from his residence.

Along with this, he also challenged the recommendation sent by the then Chief Justice of Delhi High Court Sanjeev Khanna to remove President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi from the post.

During the hearing, Supreme Court Justice Dipankar Dutta clarified that the court has admitted that the entire process did not violate the fundamental rights of the petitioner. The court said that the Chief Justice and the Investigation Committee had followed all aspects of the process including uploading photos and videos.

However, the Supreme Court also admitted that uploading the video was not a correct decision, but no legal decision was taken on it, as the move was not challenged in time.

The court also said that there was no need to upload the video, but since the issue was not raised at that time, it cannot be considered now.

Earlier, the Supreme Court had dismissed Nedmapara’s petitions in March demanding the investigation into cash seizures and demanding criminal action against Justice Verma in May.

Let me tell you that this dispute started when on March 14, burnt notes were found on Justice Verma’s exterior of New Delhi’s residence. The incident stirred judicial circles.

After this, Justice Verma was sent to Allahabad High Court from Delhi High Court and an internal committee was formed to investigate the allegations.
