Goalkeeper Andre Onana will not be involved in Manchester United’s opening day fixture against Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Onana was not named among the squad for the match against the Gunners, with Turkish shot-stopper Altay Bayindir named in the starting XI in his place.
The Cameroonian misses out on the match as he looks to recover from a hamstring injury. Onana did not feature for United in any of its preseason matches. Tom Heaton was named among the substitutes.
United is looking to kick off the 2025-26 on a positive note as it looks to recover from an abject showing in the 2024-25 season. It has undergone an overhaul of its attack, bringing in Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Sesko to bolster its firepower.
