Databricks has appointed Kamalkanth Tummala as country manager for India. Formerly with Salesforce, Tummala will lead the company’s $250 million India investment across research, training, and go-to-market operations. Databricks, valued at over $100 billion, serves major Indian clients such as HDFC Bank, Swiggy, TVS Motors and Zepto.

Data and AI company Databricks, on Monday announced the appointment of Kamalkanth Tummala as its country manager for India.

Tummala, who joins from Salesforce where he was vice president, will oversee the company’s $250 million India investment aimed at research, training and go-to-market operations.

Tummala, who has held leadership roles at Salesforce and MindTree, said, “In India’s dynamic landscape, data and AI are reshaping every organisation, and Databricks is uniquely positioned to help enterprises build a lasting competitive advantage.”

Databricks, valued at over $100 billion after its Series K round, counts HDFC Bank, Swiggy, TVS Motors and Zepto among its Indian clients. It has recently expanded its Bengaluru R&D centre and launched the India Data + AI Academy.
