Himachal landslide: In Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh, heavy rains caused heavy havoc on Monday night. Three people lost their lives in a landslide incident in Burgta village of Nihri tehsil of Sundernagar subdivision, while two people were evacuated. Landslide incidents in the area are increasing due to continuous rains.

A house was completely damaged by a landslide in Burgta village. Two women present in the house and an 8 -month -old innocent died. As soon as the news of the accident was received, the team of Nihri Chowki reached the spot. The incident has been confirmed by SP Mandi Sakshi Verma.

Three people died in accident

SP Mandi Sakshi Verma said that a total of five people were present in the house at the time of the accident. Three of them have died. The deceased have been identified as 64 -year -old Tangu Devi, 33 -year -old Kamala Devi and 8 -month -old Bhishma Singh. At the same time, 65 -year -old Khu Ram and 58 -year -old Darshan Devi were safely taken out. Police have taken the bodies of the dead and sent it for postmortem.

He said that the police and rescue team were engaged on the spot amidst the continuous rains from the night. The process of evacuating people safely continues from night itself and soon everyone will be safely evacuated. Earlier too, a similar accident occurred in Jangambagh of Sundernagar sub -division, in which seven people lost their lives. Now this new accident has come to light in the Nihari region.

Most of the roads in the area have stopped movement due to continuous heavy rains and landslides. Local people and relief teams are running a search operation at their level to evacuate the trapped people. Due to intermittent rains in the area, the danger of falling debris from the mountains is still intact. SDM Sundernagar Amar Negi, DSP Bharat Bhushan and other administrative officials reached the spot and appealed to the people not to get out of their homes and be vigilant. The situation remains even more serious due to flooding in many parts of the district.
