Desk. The situation in Georgia is very pathetic. This is what an Indian female tourist has to say. Sharing her bitter experiences on her social media handle, she has said that neither food items are available in this country nor basic things like toilets are available. In her post on Instagram, she has tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the official handle of the Ministry of External Affairs, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, Indian Embassy, celebrity Curly Tails who has been honored by PM Modi and many others. She has said that she was made to wait for five hours in the bone-chilling cold weather without food and toilet.
In a recent case of abusive treatment of Indian tourists, Instagram user Dhruvee Patel (@pateldhruvee) alleged that 56 Indian travelers faced inhumane conditions at the border while entering Georgia from Armenia. He said that despite presenting valid e-visas and documents, officials detained them at the Sadakhlo border for several hours.
According to Patel, the Indian group was made to wait for more than five hours in freezing cold without food or toilet facilities. Officials confiscated passports for more than two hours. The passengers were made to sit on the roadside like “cattle.”
Regarding this disturbing incident in Georgia, Indian woman Dhruvi also alleged that officials recorded videos of travelers as if they were criminals. When someone in the group of tourists tried to take a video, they were stopped from doing so. She said they were treated disrespectfully, declaring their visas “false” without properly checking the documents.
Dhruvi Patel, an Indian woman who shared her harrowing experiences in Georgia through a social media post, appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for justice, saying, “India must take a firm stand on this matter. The treatment meted out to Indian people in Georgia is shameful and unacceptable.”
