Maruti Suzuki India: Maruti Suzuki India, the country’s largest car manufacturer, has given the benefit of changes in Goods and Services Tax (GST) rates to its customers. Under this, the company has cut the prices of many of its cars, including Swift, Desire, Baleno, Franchise and Brezza, up to Rs 1.10 lakh. Tax reduced so much on vehicles

After changes in GST rate, all internal combustion engines (ICE) and hybrid cars will now come in slabs of 18% and 40%. Small cars such as hatchback, compact sedan and compact SUVs will have 18% GST, while large cars and luxury vehicles will come in 40% GST slab. This time no cess will be levied.

In the GST 1.0 system, 28% GST was imposed on ice and hybrid cars, and cess ranging from 1% to 22%. This cess was determined on the basis of the length, engine capacity and body style of the vehicle. Low cess was levied on small cars, while large cars were the most. As a result, the total tax ranged from 29% to 50%.

These companies have low prices: Mahindra & Mahindra, Hyundai Motor India, Tata Motors, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, Kia India, JSW MG Motor India, Honda Cars India, Renault India, Skoda Auto India and Volkswagen India have also benefited customers as the price cuts. Luxury car manufacturing companies like Mercedes-Benz India, BMW Group India, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) India, Audi India and Volvo Cars India have done the same.
