Lucknow. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced that the 5th phase of 'Mission Shakti' dedicated to women safety, honor and self -reliance will start from the upcoming Shardiya Navratri. In a high -level meeting on Wednesday, he said that the campaign will start from 22 September and run for 30 days.

Start and achievements of mission power

  • 'Mission Shakti' started in the year 2020.
  • So far, its four stages have been completed.
  • The campaign has given good results in the safety and empowerment of women and girls.
  • Last time there were more than 3.44 lakh programs and more than 2.03 crore women and girls were connected.
  • Schemes such as women's helpline 1090, emergency service 112, pink booth, pink scooty, CCTV and panic button have been successful.

Instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath- Emphasis on security and patrolling

The Chief Minister directed the officials that:

  • Foot patrolling of police and PRV-112 vehicles should be continuously active.
  • Senior officers (ADG, IG, DIG) descend into the field and communicate with the public.
  • Inspection and patrolling police lines.
  • The public should be confident that the government is ready to protect them 24 × 7.
  • Fear of law should be visible among criminals, whether criminals are male or female.

Important role of women police force

At present, 44,177 women police personnel are deployed in Uttar Pradesh. The Chief Minister ordered that within 30 days, all 57 thousand gram panchayats and 14 thousand urban wards should have a phased deployment of women beat police officers.

Women police officers should communicate with women and girls in association with village head, Asha, ANM, Anganwadi workers, understand their problems and needs, inform about government schemes and rights. Also explain how to help in emergency.

Special security in Navratri and festivals

  • There will be special deployment of women police in temples, religious places, fairs and public places.
  • The anti -Romeo squad will be further activated.
  • Strict action will be taken against the prodigy so that no one dare to commit crime again.
  • Action should be sensitive and only on real criminals.

Dialogue and awareness for women safety

The Chief Minister directed that there should be dialogues and conferences related to women safety in every district. These include representatives of hospitals, industrial establishments, school-colleges and universities. Students should be made aware of women safety and gender equality through short films in schools and colleges.

Women aid in jails and courts

  • Legal assistance should be given to the helpless women in jail.
  • Fast and concrete prosecution action should be taken in women's crime cases.
  • Prosecution should be monitored so that the culprits are punished quickly.
  • Every call on women's helpline 1090 should be seriously disposed of.

Pink Booth and Mission Shakti Kendra

Pink booths will be set up in all municipal corporations. Special training will be given to policemen posted at Mission Shakti Kendras, including gender sensitization, collecting digital evidence, case management, financial assistance schemes. 24 × 7 assistance will be available at Pink Booth. Mission Shakti Kendras will be developed at 360 degree model where services like complaint registration, counseling, legal aid, feedback and follow-up will be available in one place.

Mission Power: Social Movement, not a government program

The Chief Minister said that mission power is not only a government scheme, but it is a social campaign to empower women.

  • It should have access to every village, ward and family.
  • Campaign should run in mission mode.
  • Every daughter should be confident of safety and respect.

Previous special campaign of mission power

Many special campaigns went on in the last phase:

  • Operation Garuda: Action on cyber criminals.
  • Operation childhood: Rehabilitation of 2857 children and arrest of 22 criminals.
  • Operation Majnu: Action on more than 74 thousand youths.
  • Operation de -addiction: Arrest of more than 40 thousand persons.
  • Operation Defense: Ban on illegal activities in hotels and pubs.
  • Operation Eagle: Arrest of more than 7000 accused.

UP achievement at national level

According to the ITSSO portal, Uttar Pradesh ranks first in the country with 98.80% disposal rate. A proposal was passed to implement UP model 'Mahila Helpline 1090 and Mission Shakti' in other states in the National Conference of Women in Police.
