Haryana News: Keeping in mind the interests of small taxpayers, the Haryana government has implemented “One Time Settlement Scheme, 2025” for the disposal of outstanding tax amount under seven Acts including VAT, CST. The scheme will end on September 27, 2025. Explain that till date, 97,039 taxpayers have taken advantage of Rs 712.88 crore.
A spokesman for the department said that the scheme will be applicable to the outstanding amount for the period till 30 June 2017. This includes seven Acts, including the Haryana Price Edited Tax Act, 2003 (6 of 2003), Central Sales Tax Act, 1956 (Central Act 74 of 1956), Haryana Happiness Tax Act, 2007 (23 of 2007), Haryana Entertainment Fee Act, 1955 (16 of Punjab Act of 1955), Haryana General Sales Tax Act 1973 (20) of 1973 (20) of 1973 (20) of 1973 (20) of 1973 (20) of 1973 (20) of 1973 (20) of 1973, Haryana Local Area Development Tax, 2000 (13 of 2000) and Taxes Act 2008 (8 of 2008) on the entry of goods in Haryana local region.
He said that under this scheme, the outstanding interest and fine have been completely forgiven by giving great relief to the taxpayers. Under the scheme, a standard exemption of Rs 1 lakh has been given on arrears of up to ten lakh rupees and up to 60 percent discount on the remaining arrears. There will be a discount of 50 percent on more than ten lakhs and outstanding arrears of up to ten crore rupees. Similarly, in cases of more than ten crore rupees, only the original outstanding tax will have to be paid, while interest and fine will be 100 percent forgive.
The spokesperson said that if the taxpayers want, they can pay the settlement amount even in two equal installments and there will be no interest on these installments.
The state government has appealed to the taxpayers of the state to take the maximum benefit of this “One Time Settlement Scheme, 2025” and settle their arrears before the scheduled time period.
