Types and rules of tickets (Indian Railway)

Indian Railways mainly consists of two types of tickets: e-ticket and counter tickets. The rules of both are slightly different.

1. If you lose counter tickets- If your counter ticket is lost, you should go to your nearest Chief Reservation Supervisor. Give a written application and make duplicate tickets by paying Rs 50 (sleeper class) or 100 rupees (AC class) fee. This duplicate ticket will be valid like original ticket.

2. When the ticket is lost in the train: If you have already been sitting in the train and lost the ticket, contact the TTE (ticket checker). If you have a PNR number or a photocopy of the ticket, show it.

3. If you have forgotten the e-ticket and ID: If you have taken the e-ticket and have forgotten to bring the identity card (ID), then according to the rules of the railway, you will be considered without tickets. You can continue the journey by paying the trip to TTE and paying a fine of the journey. TTE will allow you to travel on the same berth that you booked earlier.

Losing tickets is a common problem, but Indian Railways has provided easy solutions for this. If this happens to you too, there is no need to panic. Just follow the rules and enjoy your journey.
