A strange incident has recently come to light at Jodhpur's MBM (Magniram Bangar Memorial) University. The university released the BE second semester (Mechanical) results, in which several students were awarded marks ranging from 137 out of 100. Students were shocked by the results, and the news spread on social media, quickly becoming a topic of discussion.
According to reports, this incident occurred on October 7, when the university uploaded the results and marksheets on its website. In the results, practical and sessional subjects, which had a maximum score of 100, were recorded as having marks ranging from 103 to 137. Approximately 800 students appeared for this exam, and all of them have been found to have discrepancies in their marksheets.
Students stunned to see 137 marks out of 100
According to media reports, a student in the second semester of BE showed 137 marks out of 100 in the Engineering Mechanics Lab subject. Furthermore, the same student received 123 marks in the Chemistry Lab. When he calculated his entire marksheet, he found that the total appeared to be 219 out of 600, while the actual total was 675.
Similarly, other students' marksheets also contained strange marks. Some were awarded more than 100 marks in five subjects, while others were declared "toppers" in seven subjects. One student received 131 marks in Machine Drawing (New), which is simply impossible.
Results removed from website
When students noticed the error, they informed the university administration. Within hours, the university removed the link to the results and marksheets from the website. However, by then, many students had shared screenshots of the results on social media, sparking widespread discussion.
Technical Problem
Seeing the issue escalate, Dr. Anil Gupta, Controller of Examinations at MBM University, clarified that the error was due to a technical error. He explained that the results of approximately 800 students of the BE second semester were incorrectly entered into the system due to a technical issue during uploading. Dr. Gupta further stated that the results are now being thoroughly checked and corrected. He has given clear instructions to the technical team to correct the results and publish the new results as soon as possible.
