Train Cancelled News: Millions of people travel by train daily across the country. The Railways are called the lifeline of the country, but sometimes, due to track maintenance or infrastructure work, some trains have to be stopped. This is the case again. Due to the reconstruction of the Old Washing Pit at Gorakhpur Junction, the Railways has extended the block period. Consequently, several trains have been canceled, short-terminated, or short-originated. The Railways states that these changes are necessary for passenger safety and operational improvement.

These Trains Cancelled

According to Pankaj Kumar Singh, Chief Public Relations Officer of North Eastern Railway, several trains, including the Gorakhpur-Delhi route, will be affected. Engineering work is underway at Old Washing Pit Nos. 1 and 2. For this reason, some trains will not run from February 26th to 28th.

• Train No. 05058 Delhi–Gorakhpur Special canceled until February 27th.


• Train No. 05053 Gorakhpur–Bandra Terminus Special canceled until February 27th.


• Train No. 05054 Bandra Terminus–Gorakhpur Special canceled until February 28th.

Short-terminated and short-originated trains

Railways have shortened the routes or changed the starting/ending stations of some trains.

• Train No. 01027 Dadar–Gorakhpur Special: Short terminated at Mau Junction, until February 26


• Train No. 01028 Gorakhpur–Dadar Special: Will run from Mau, until February 28


• Train No. 22921 Bandra Terminus–Gorakhpur Express: To Balrampur, until February 22
