West Indies showed more patience and determination than in Ahmedabad, but still there were some lapses in concentration, which cost them heavily in this series. On the second day of the Delhi Test, India scored 518 runs for 5 wickets and added exactly 200 more runs before declaring the innings. Thanks to Yashasvi Jaiswal’s 175 and Shubman Gill’s 129* runs, the team made a big score.

John Campbell had a strange dismissal in the West Indies innings, but Tagnarin Chanderpaul and Alek Athanazé remained composed and put on a 66-run partnership for the second wicket. But as has often happened in the past, an error resulted in Chanderpaul being out and the visitors’ score reduced from 87/1 to 107/4. During this, Ravindra Jadeja took three wickets and Kuldeep Yadav took one wicket.

By the end of the second day’s play, West Indies had scored 140 runs after playing 43 overs, but they also lost four important wickets. Shai Hope looked very positive and Tevin Imlach batted with confidence. Now it will be interesting to see how the visiting team faces the Indian bowlers on the third day.
