We can soon expect Mahindra to launch its all-new electric SUV owing to the fact that a fresh test mule of the XEV 7e which is based on the XUV700, was recently spotted at a public charging station.
Mahindra XEV 7e Expected Launch
After this launch, this model will sit above the soon-to-be-launched facelifted version of the XUV400 in the Indian market.
This new model is going to be part of Mahindra’s larger electrification strategy under its recently conceived “Born Electric” product lineup.
This lineup would be comprising both XUV and BE-branded models over the next few years.
Please note here that the XUV 7e is based on the same underpinnings as the XUV700 while sporting a new face and rear fascia to clearly denote it as an EV.
In the latest spy shots, one can clearly witness a covered grille, sleeker headlamp setup with more modern LED DRL signatures, and aero alloy wheels that do help in efficiency as well.
Its charging port sits at the front fender, because it is an EV.
Besides this, we are expecting more aero enhancements like a new bumper and a more streamlined rear section that will get connected taillamps.
Mahindra XUV700-Based EV Expected Features And Specifications
This upcoming launch is most likely to adopt the same cabin layout as XUV700͏ in addition with some exclusive EV features͏.
Its major expected highlights includes a spacious dual-screen display, advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), panoramic sunroof, and integrated connected car tech.
Besides this, the car maker might also include an updated digital instrument cluster and replace the traditional gear lever with a contemporary rotary gear selector.
Mahindra appears to have partnered with Volkswagen to utilise the MEB platform parts for its Born Electric series.
Also, there are rumours that the XUV 7e will come with a choice between single or dual-motor options.
This EV is anticipated to have a range of 450–500 km (IDC) and could come with fast charge support and vehicle-to-load (V2L) features.
Coming to the launch date, Mahindra XEV 7e is slated to debut in late 2025, with market launch expected shortly after.
After its launch, this model will rival with the likes of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and the BYD Atto 3 in India as a premium electric SUV offering from the carmaker.
For the pricing, it is expected to start north of Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom) and considering the increasing number of test mules being spotted on public roads, it signals that Mahindra is into advanced stages of development.
