Marcus Rashford's impressive display for Barcelona against Real Madrid should serve as a stark reminder to Ruben Amorim of the talent he is missing at Manchester United. The forward made his way to the Nou Camp on a season-long loan this summer, having found himself sidelined at Old Trafford following Amorim's arrival. Rashford was left out of the manager's plans and spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa.

Upon his return from the Midlands, when it became clear that he was still not in Amorim's plans, the 27-year-old was quick to seek another move away from United. His wish was granted when Barcelona snapped him up on a season-long loan, and it's fair to say that Rashford has flourished with the Catalan giants since.

The striker has already netted five goals from 12 appearances and chalked up his seventh assist of the season against Real Madrid on Sunday afternoon.

Trailing by a goal due to Kylian Mbappe's early strike, Alejandro Balde picked up the ball on the edge of the box before penetrating the backline to find Rashford wheeling away.

Rashford, showing great sportsmanship, passed the ball to Fermin Lopez who blasted it past a helpless Thibaut Courtois.

However, Barcelona's joy was short-lived as Jude Bellingham scored for Real Madrid before half-time. It turned out to be the winner and Barcelona ended up a man short when Pedri was sent off just moments before the final whistle.

Rashford's impressive displays this season should serve as a wake-up call for Amorim, suggesting he may have prematurely let go of one of United's most promising talents.

Although he is only on loan at Barcelona until the end of the season, the club have the option to make his move permanent for a reported fee of around £30million.

This could prove to be a bargain for Barcelona if they decide to activate the clause, especially considering Rashford's market value is likely to increase if he continues to shine in La Liga and the Champions League.

Despite losing one of their star academy graduates, United are faring well. The Reds are currently on a three-match winning streak, with victories over Sunderland, Liverpool and Brighton.

They survived a late fightback from the Seagulls to claim all three points on Saturday, with Bryan Mbeumo scoring twice. Matheus Cunha and Casemiro were also on target as the Red Devils maintained their winning form.
