November Holiday 5 November 2025: There will be a government holiday in Madhya Pradesh on 5 November on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti. On this day, there will be holiday in government offices, schools and colleges across the state. According to the annual holiday calendar of the Government of Madhya Pradesh, November 5 has been declared a public holiday on the occasion of both Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti and Guru Nanak Jayanti.

All schools and colleges will remain closed

All government departments, schools and colleges of the state will remain closed on this day. Along with this, all government and private banks of Madhya Pradesh will also remain closed on 5th November. Actually, bank holidays are decided by the Reserve Bank of India and every year the list of holidays is released according to different states. According to this list of RBI, bank holiday has been fixed on 5th November in Madhya Pradesh. Therefore, there will be no banking related work on this day.

Why celebrate Guru Nanak Jayanti?

Guru Nanak Jayanti is also called Prakash Parv or Guru Parv, because on this day Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism, was born.
