What is the story?


This story is set in the background of the village ‘Vesasa Wadgaon’ in the 1990s. This story is being told by Lakshmi Aji to her granddaughter Ahilya (Sajiri Joshi) and Ahilya’s story is something that girls in the society really need to tell and understand.


Ahilya, the heroine of this series, is shown raising her voice against superstitions, traditions and injustice in the society and fights for the right to education. She works to bring about change in the entire village. Sajiri literally lives this character. This girl represents the society and is shown in this series doing the work of defying the constraints of the society. Along with Sajiri, actresses Kshithi Jog, Siddesh Dhuri and Shivraj Vaichal are in the lead roles and director Dharmadhikari has made an impressive creation of Saksham Stree.


The story of society


It has been shown that only virgins can enter Vesai’s house after the girl comes of age, i.e. when she starts menstruating, the tradition is to marry her off. If this matter is concealed, the girl is punished with hair removal and she is also ostracized. Due to this, the marriage of girls is also arranged within the village and provision is made to prevent cross-dressing.
