Cognizant has partnered with Anthropic to adopt the Claude family of large language models (LLMs), aiming to help enterprises shift from AI experimentation to large-scale, production-ready deployment. As part of this collaboration, Cognizant will introduce Claude to as many as 3.5 lakh employees across engineering, delivery, and corporate functions, making it one of the largest internal rollouts of enterprise-grade generative AI. The partnership integrates Anthropic’s Claude models—including Claude Code—as well as the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and Agent SDK directly into Cognizant’s existing engineering and industry platforms. This combined ecosystem is designed to help clients modernise systems, automate workflows, and scale AI capabilities across complex business operations.

Accelerating Modernisation Through Agentic AI: Inside Cognizant’s Claude Integration

Cognizant CEO Ravi Kumar S emphasised that enterprises are moving toward an “agentic future” where AI systems collaborate with humans to boost modernisation, engineering efficiency, and industry transformation. By combining Cognizant’s industry expertise with Anthropic’s advanced models and agentic tooling, the goal is to build the foundation for “agentified enterprises” capable of leveraging intelligent, autonomous systems. Cognizant plans to deploy Claude and Claude Code within its Flowsource platform to accelerate software development processes, including coding, testing, documentation and DevOps automation. The company will also apply Anthropic’s code intelligence to enhance its modernisation frameworks, enabling faster analysis and refactoring of extensive legacy codebases for clients.

The collaboration extends to creating domain-specific, multi-agent systems using Cognizant Neuro AI Multi-Agent Orchestration in combination with Anthropic’s Agent SDK. These systems will operate with human oversight and policy enforcement to support responsible use, particularly as they expand into highly regulated sectors such as financial services. Both companies will also work together to advance safe, standards-aligned AI practices by using open frameworks like MCP to guide implementation.

Empowering Enterprises: Claude Workshops and Integrations to Speed AI Deployment

Anthropic’s chief commercial officer Paul Smith highlighted that the partnership blends frontier AI capabilities with Cognizant’s deep domain expertise, helping accelerate enterprise adoption. Cognizant will now engage clients through workshops and platform integrations using Claude to identify high-value use cases, speed up pilot-to-production transitions, and deliver measurable AI outcomes across industries.

Summary:

Cognizant has partnered with Anthropic to deploy Claude LLMs across 3.5 lakh employees and integrate them into its engineering platforms. The collaboration aims to modernise systems, automate workflows, and build agentic enterprises. Using workshops and multi-agent systems, both companies will accelerate pilot-to-production AI adoption and deliver measurable outcomes for clients.
