Gonda. These days, the construction work of Khadanja is going on at a fast pace in Belha village under Gram Sabha Rukmangadpur of development block Rupaidih. This construction is being done from the pucca road to Hanuman temple, Panna Lal’s house and Ram Samuj’s house.

According to sources, a cost of lakhs of rupees has been approved for this work. However, villagers have raised serious questions on the quality of the work. He says that yellow bricks are being used extensively in construction, but no attention has been paid to their strength and durability. At many places the bricks appear weak and the leveling work is also not up to standard. The villagers allege that this entire work is being done only to supply food.

Local people also alleged that there were indications of involvement of responsible officials in the construction work. Only paperwork is being done in the name of inspection. The villagers have demanded a high-level investigation so that misuse of government funds can be stopped and strict action should be taken against the culprits. The village head was contacted in this regard but the mobile phone remained switched off due to which information could not be received.

In this regard, when an attempt was made to contact Block Development Officer Abhay Kumar, his mobile was switched off, while when an attempt was made to get information from the Chief Development Officer in this regard, his number was also said to be switched off, hence no response from any departmental officer has been received. Villagers say that if the investigation is conducted impartially, many shocking revelations can be made.
