Actor Tyriq Withers , known for his roles in ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’, ‘Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead’, and ‘Senior Year’, recently talked about how he would love to star in another ‘ High School Musical ’ film. While talking about his career and love for acting, he also revealed how he used to love to sing and dance, and that he would also belt out the lyrics to some of the songs from the film as well.



Tyriq Withers talks about his wish to star in a ‘High School Musical’ remake

The star, while talking to People at the 2025 CFDA Fashion Awards on November 3, the actor jumped right into his love for musical films and how much of a connection he had with the iconic ‘High School Musical’ franchise. While talking about the movie, he revealed that he even performed one of the songs in one of his talent shows as well when he was young.



“I actually performed [‘ We’re All in This Together ’] for my fifth-grade talent show … and it’s been a dream of mine to bring [High School Musical] back, so, you never know,” he further shared. The actor was also enthusiastic about joining a remake if the project ever came to life, adding that “There is no question when that question is presented to me.”



About ‘High School Musical’

The teen drama musical film , released in 2006, followed the lives of high school basketball player Troy and the shy and out-of-town new student Gabriella . Over vacation, the two end up bumping into one another and developing a bond over their love for singing. Disrupting the school’s social chain, the two decide to audition and run for the next school musical, leaving them at the mercy of the queen bee of the school, Sharpay and her brother Ryan.
