Manchester United are said to have made contact with Nottingham Forest over the potential signing of Elliot Anderson as the midfielder continues to attract high-profile suitors.
The England man has shone for the Midlands outfit since his arrival from Newcastle in 2024 and his performances at the City Ground have provided him with the platform to establish himself in the national team set-up ahead of next year's World Cup. Unfortunately for Forest, Anderson’s fine form has also not gone unnoticed by some of their domestic rival.
Mirror Football revealed last month that Manchester City and Chelsea were keen on Anderson, butUnited and Liverpool are also understood to be admirers, with the Red Devils now taking their interest a step further.
As per Sky in Germany, United chiefs have registered their interest in the 23-year-old, with Forest now aware of their position. However, the Europa League side are not keen on selling.

The report adds that Forest would demand in the region of £100m-£120m to even consider a sale, with United unlikely to stump up a fee anywhere near that level. Anderson has just under four years left to run on the contract that he signed at the City Ground last summer, meaning Forest are in a strong bargaining position.
The midfielder was signed for around £35m, with Greek goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos moving in the opposite direction as both Newcastle and Forest attempted to abide by PSR rules. Anderson has since made 56 appearances for Forest, scoring on three occasions. He has also managed to amass four caps for England.
“I feel full of confidence coming off the back end of the Euros, and I want to carry it on,” he said to Telegraph Sport in an interview earlier this season. “My focus there was just on performing and putting myself in the best position possible for the seniors.

“That’s all I’ve done and that’s what I’ll continue to do. I’m in a really good place now. I’ve got to carry on my performances at club level with Forest and see where it takes me. My biggest aim this season is to add some numbers [goals and assists] to my performances, that will probably take me to the next level.”
Asked if his move to Forest was a surprise, Anderson added: “Yeah, 100 per cent. It definitely was. I didn’t really see it coming, but it’s the new rules in football these days. I got a phone call while I was away on holiday, telling me I was possibly going to leave. A few days later I was flying to Nottingham.
“I’ve come to Forest and it’s really benefitted me as a player, but maybe I didn’t see it like that when I left Newcastle. Everything happens for a reason and it’s been a great move for me. I’m really enjoying my football.”
