New Delhi, 13 November (Read)। State-run telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has invited bids to deploy 10,000 4G sites in Delhi under an operational expenditure (OpEx) model. If the project proves successful, BSNL plans to replicate this deployment model across India.
According to the tender document, participating bidders must have maintained an annual turnover of ₹300 crore for the past three financial years. In addition, all equipment used must be approved by the National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS) to ensure network security and compliance.
BSNL is also preparing to launch commercial 5G services in Delhi by early 2026following a successful pilot rollout in the capital. The company aims to build its next-generation mobile network using indigenous 4G and 5G technologyaligning with the government’s push for self-reliance in critical telecom infrastructure.
The move marks a significant step in BSNL’s strategy to modernise its network, expand high-speed mobile coverage in metro cities and position itself strongly in India’s competitive telecom market.
