Harjot Bains sends third batch of 72 teachers to Finland for training on world-class teaching methods
Chandigarh: Important changes are being brought in the education system in Punjab. The state government is not only paying attention to the construction of schools, but is also making teachers aware of new teaching methods, so that the future of children can be bright.
This information was given by Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains, who sent a batch of 72 teachers to Finland for training in teaching techniques. He informed that a 15-day training is being organized at Turku University, Finland to bring positive changes in the classroom and adopt best teaching practices at the global level.
Harjot Singh Bains said that after the training of this batch, the total number of teachers trained from Finland will become 216. This step reflects the commitment of the Punjab government to reform the education system under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. He also informed that the fifth batch of 50 head teachers will participate in the leadership training program at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad from 15 to 19 December 2025.
Giving information about the teacher capacity-building initiative of the Punjab Government, the Education Minister said that 234 principals and academic managers have been given advanced management and academic leadership training in Singapore. Additionally, 199 headmasters have honed their management skills at IIM Ahmedabad and so far 144 primary teachers have completed their training in Finland.
He said that these qualified teachers will act as master trainers and will impart the knowledge gained from Finland to their fellow teachers, which will have a positive impact on the education system of the state.
