Rock band JAURIM has been a force to reckon with since the late 90s. Now, one of the members of the group, Kim Yoon Ah , is getting candid about her health update and how she has been dealing with everything. Read on to find out more about her ordeal dealing with neurological paralysis .
Kim Yoon Ah opens up about her neurological paralysis diagnosisThe singer was recently featured as a guest on the variety show ‘The Seasons’ on November 14. The band has been active for 30 years and has also recently announced that they will be releasing their 12th full length album titled ‘LIFE!’ While talking about the album, the singer shared that there was a sense of urgency behind releasing the album like this. The idol shared that she had gotten a serious diagnosis of cranial nerve paralysis .
She shared, “My health wasn't improving, and I was at a crossroads about whether I could continue making music. I realized that I didn't know when my life would end, and that this album could be my last. That's why I realized I had to do everything I could before I died.”
She shared that she now lives every moment in her life as if it's her last, as she feels that her life may end at any moment. This makes her pour everything she has into everything she does, including the rock band’s latest album.
More about her diagnosisThe idol was officially diagnosed in 2011; however, she only opened up about it in June last year. She shared, “In 2011, after producing JAURIM's eighth album, my immune system was so weakened that I developed cranial nerve paralysis. I have a congenital immunodeficiency and have to receive monthly treatment. It affected my senses of smell, hearing, taste, pain, heat, and cold, my facial and upper body muscles, and even my vagus nerve… I also still have a vocal impediment from it, but I’m trying to overcome it.”
