Jammu, 16 November. The Omar Abdullah-led National Conference government in Jammu and Kashmir has announced ex-gratia from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to provide immediate relief and support to the families affected by the blast at Nowgam police station in Srinagar.


It is noteworthy that in this tragic accident last Friday (14 November) night, nine people died and 32 people including 27 policemen were injured. After this incident, the government has announced compensation for the affected families.


The state government has announced an assistance amount of Rs 10 lakh to the family of each deceased. An assistance amount of Rs 1 lakh will be given to seriously injured persons. This information was shared through the official ‘X’ handle of the Chief Minister’s Office.



Meanwhile, state government minister Sakina Itu met some of the families who lost their loved ones in the Naugam police station blast. He expressed deep condolences to the families. After this, Itu also went to the hospital and met the injured. He assured the injured that in this hour of grief, the government stands firmly with the affected families and all possible assistance will be provided to them.


Earlier, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha had also expressed grief over the incident by posting on ‘X’. He wrote that the government stands in solidarity with the families, friends and loved ones of the deceased. He had also informed that all possible assistance is being provided to the affected people and has ordered an investigation to find out the cause of the sudden explosion.
