The initiative aims to foster a love of mathematics, nurture creative thinking, and raise Vietnam’s profile in global education. Backed academically by VNIES, Vio Global Champion aligns content and assessment with international competency standards such as PISA and TIMSS, while operating on a modern, large-scale online platform developed by FPT.

Built on technologies, data and nearly two decades of experience from Violympic, an online mathematics platform that has attracted millions of participants, Vio Global Champion features AI-enhanced proctoring and an infrastructure capable of supporting up to 300,000 concurrent contestants.
Organizers expect the platform to become a global hub for intellectual exchange, strengthening cultural and knowledge links and expanding math learning opportunities for students in Vietnam and abroad. All competition activities will be conducted entirely in English, helping participants become familiar with academic language and international standards while offering content that maps to the general education curriculum and progresses into advanced reasoning and real-world application.
Vio Global Champion 2025 will be held in three stages: Experience, National, and International Finals, running from November 2025 to June 2026. Tests will combine multiple-choice and written responses and are designed to evaluate advanced thinking, mathematical application, and global-citizenship skills. The international finals are planned for Hanoi in June 2026, with total prizes valued at VND 2 billion (US$75,901).
Speaking at the launch, Cao Tung Anh, Head of Technology VIO at FPT, highlighted the platform’s technical capabilities and AI anti-cheating systems, which he said underscore FPT’s capacity to run global-scale academic competitions.

Prof. Dr. Le Anh Vinh, President of VNIES and academic lead for the competition, described Vio Global Champion as more than a contest: a high-quality environment for developing well-rounded competencies in the digital-native generation.
He said the competition will strengthen logical and critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving, and the use of academic English—key skills for today’s learners.

The partnership combines FPT’s technological strengths and experience with VNIES’s six decades of research and curriculum expertise. Organizers say Vio Global Champion will provide a progressive, English-language pathway for young learners to engage with global math education and represent a strategic step in expanding Vietnam’s presence on the international academic stage.
