DA News : An important update has come for the government employees. This update will be exclusive for retired employees. Actually retired employees get benefits like dearness allowance, pension hike and pay commission recommendations from the government.
But for the last few days, it is being claimed in social media that these benefits of retired government employees have been stopped by the government. Currently, a message is going viral on all social media platforms including WhatsApp across the country.
It is claimed that under the Finance Act 2025, the central government has stopped all facilities like dearness allowance (DA), pension hike and pay commission recommendations to retired government employees. Due to this claim, a lot of unrest was seen among the government employees.
Due to this message which went viral on social media, confusion arose among lakhs of retired employees. Due to this, the employees were curious to know whether the government has really taken any such decision.
Finally, now the central government has given important information in this regard. The central government as well as the Press Information Bureau (PIB) have clarified this claim as completely false. PIB, in a post on its platform X (formerly Twitter), said the message circulating on social media was “misleading” and the information contained was not true.
That means the government has not taken any such decision. Retired government employees will continue to get the same benefits as they are getting now. The government clarified that there has been no change in any facility available to retired government employees.
No change has been made in pension, dearness allowance increase, pay commission recommendations to retired employees. All the facilities available to the retired employees are continuing and no decision has been taken by the government to reduce or discontinue them.
The government said that the amendment to Rule 37 of the Central Civil Services (Pension) Rules, 2021 applies only in certain circumstances. This change is for cases in which a government servant is dismissed from service due to indiscipline or misconduct after switching jobs to a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU).
In such a situation, provision has been made to take action against the retirement benefits earned in his Government service. It has nothing to do with general benefits of retired employees. Meanwhile, the Central Government has approved the Terms of Reference of the 8th Pay Commission.
The commission has to submit its report within the next 18 months. The NC-JCM, which represents the employees, has demanded that the minimum wage be fixed based on a five-member family by increasing the number of family members.
The main reason behind this is the demand to include elderly parents as well. The government has reiterated that the rights and benefits of employees and retired employees are fully protected.
