There is a good and a worrying news for the fans of Team India. The good news is that captain Shubhman Gill has been discharged from Woodlands Hospital in Kolkata. But the matter of concern is whether he will be able to play the second Test match against South Africa? There is still suspense on this. On Sunday, Bengal Cricket Association President Sourav Ganguly himself went to the hospital to inquire about Gill’s condition, after which he was discharged. So what happened on the field? This whole matter is of the second day of the Kolkata Test. India’s first innings was going on and Gill was batting. He hit a brilliant four, but as soon as he hit the shot, he was seen holding his neck and groaning in pain. Immediately the physio came to the field and treated him, but the pain was so much that Gill had to leave the field. He ‘retired hurt’ after scoring just four runs. After a few hours, when his condition did not improve, he was taken to the hospital in an ambulance on a stretcher. Seeing this, the concern of the fans increased. The team lost in the absence of the captain. After captain Gill was out of the field, vice-captain Rishabh Pant took command of the team. But Team India could not recover from this setback. In the first Test match, South Africa defeated India by 30 runs and took a 1-0 lead in the series. Now the biggest question: Will Gill play the second Test? Currently, the BCCI medical team is keeping an eye on Shubman Gill’s injury. The team management has not yet decided whether he will play in the second and last Test match starting in Guwahati from November 22 or not. The entire team will leave for Guwahati on Tuesday, and there a final decision will be taken considering Gill’s fitness. BCCI had already made it clear that in view of the injury, he has been kept out of the first Test, because there was uneven bounce on the pitch and his injury could have been serious. Now all eyes were on this thing. It remains to be seen whether captain Gill will be able to make a comeback in the second test or not.
