In response to Mumbai’s first innings score of 331 runs at the VCA Stadium in Civil Lines, Vidarbha’s openers made a good start and took the team’s score to 45 runs. On this score, Abhay Patel gave Mumbai its first success by dismissing Tushar Kadu (17). After this, Kush showed aggressive play and played a quick inning of 55 runs (38 balls, 7 fours, 3 sixes). He along with Gaurav Nikam took the team to 85 runs but Himanshu Singh broke this partnership.

Earlier, Mumbai progressed from 272 runs for 7 wickets and ended its first innings at 331 runs. Sarthak Bhide took his unbeaten inning of 14 runs to 21. Vedant Gurav contributed 15 runs and Himanshu Singh contributed 26 unbeaten runs. Captain Kush Sharma took maximum 4 wickets for Vidarbha. Soham Dev took 2 wickets, while Sarthak Dhabdgaonkar, Yash Titre and Om Dhotre took one wicket each.
