Arsenal appear to be facing a big decision over the future of Ethan Nwaneri, who could reportedly go out on loan in the January window. The highly-rated teenager has been involved in the senior squad under Mikel Arteta since making his Gunners debut at just 15 years old. However, he is yet to start a league match for the north Londoners so far this season.

It has led to questions over Nwaneri's immediate future despite him signing a new contract at the Emirates Stadium in the summer. Reports have suggested that he could depart on a temporary basis when the transfer window opens in January. Such a move would allow him to get more minutes under his belt, which can only be a good thing for his development.

Express Sport takes a look at four possible loan destinations for Nwaneri...

Fulham

A move to Craven Cottage would allow Nwaneri to keep adapting to Premier League football while getting more chances to play than he would at Arsenal.

Several players, including the likes of Reiss Nelson and Emile Smith Rowe, have swapped Arsenal for Fulham over the last few years. Nwaneri wouldn't have to relocate from the capital by joining the west Londoners, which could be an appealing factor.

West Ham

A potential switch to West Ham would provide Nwaneri with an interesting challenge. They are currently in the relegation zone and could do with an extra injection of quality to pull them out of trouble.

Such a move would offer the teenage playmaker the chance to be a hero for the Hammers as they attempt to secure top-flight survival over the coming months. And like Fulham, he could join them without having to leave London.

Moving to the City Ground would present the Arsenal man with a similar task of helping a struggling side to haul themselves away from danger.

Working under Sean Dyche could help Nwaneri to improve the nitty-gritty side of his game. He would also be linking up with several of his team-mates from the England youth internationals, including the likes of James McAtee and Omari Hutchinson.

Marseille

In the event Nwaneri fancies a move abroad, he could do worse than to join Marseille. There is already a big English contingent in the south of France with players like CJ Egan-Riley, Mason Greenwood and Angel Gomes on the books.

Over the course of his time at the club and throughout his previous spell at Brighton, manager Roberto De Zerbi has shown that he is not afraid to trust young players to deliver the goods.

Marseille are a huge team and turning out for them on a regular basis would give Nwaneri more experience in that regard, while getting more playing time than he would by staying at Arsenal.
