Rural vehicle and mobility solutions platform Tractor Junction has raised $22 million in a funding round led by Europe-based firm Astanor, with Info Edge and Omnivore participating. Of the total funding, $17 million was equity, while the rest was debt.

The platform aims to use the proceeds to expand its presence in new states and strengthen its fintech offerings, such as credit and insurance for vehicles.

“We are selling approximately 350 used tractors and used commercial vehicles monthly right now and we have disbursed almost Rs 1,500 crore in loans over this platform in the last 20-21 months with 25 lending partners,” said cofounder and CEO Rajat Gupta, in conversation with ET.

The company was started by Gupta and Shivani Gupta in 2018. Animesh Agarwal joined them later to build a full-stack platform for India's rural mobility sector.

Besides the online platform, the company owns 75 stores in six cities. “About 70% of the sales are currently happening via walk-ins coming to our store,” said Gupta.

For FY25, Tractor Junction reported Rs 120.8 crore in operating revenue, up 90.5% from Rs 63.4 crore in FY24. The company’s net loss widened to Rs 9.1 crore in FY25 from Rs 3.7 crore a year ago.

“India’s rural economy is central to the future of sustainable food systems. Tractor Junction has built a trusted and affordable platform for rural mechanisation by combining technology, on-the-ground reach, and fintech innovation,” said Hendrik van Asbroeck, partner at Astanor, in a prepared statement.

In the tractor business, the startup's competition includes KhetiGaadi, Tractor Factory, and CarDekho Group-owned TractorDekho. In 2021, Tractor Junction acquired Tractor Guru, an online platform for purchase and sale of tractors.
