Singer PSY, who is best known for his global popularity through the song ‘Gangnam Style,’ had been making headlines earlier this year due to his prescription pickup. The police had been investigating the case since then, and a new update has officially been shared with the public.
New update about PSY’s drug caseThere had been an investigation going on about PSY and how he had his prescription pills picked up from the clinic on his behalf. In a recent report shared online by TV Report, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency has shared a new update.
The authorities have officially stated that most of the ongoing investigation has already been finalized by them. They also added, “There are materials that still need to be reviewed, so the investigation is ongoing, and it is difficult to discuss specific details at this stage.”
Earlier updates about the case had shared that from 2022 till recently, there had been updates and findings that pointed to the artist having his medications picked up by his manager. Not only that, but it was also added in the report that the singer was taking drugs such as Xanax and Stilnox without any in-person consultations. He was suspected of violating the Medical Service Act.
PSY’s management agency’s statement in the matterThe case has been going on since August of this year, and at the time when it was made public, the star’s agency had issued a statement about the matter. The statement read, “It was clearly a mistake and an oversight that prescription sleep medication—considered a specialist drug—was picked up by a third party. We apologize. Psy has been taking sleep medication prescribed in appropriate dosages by medical professionals, and there were instances where a third party collected the medication. But there was no proxy prescription.”
