The case of Anmol Bishnoi, younger brother of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, is in discussion in Delhi court. Anmol has been extradited from America and brought to India and the NIA team presented him in Patiala House Court. NIA had asked for 15 days remand, but the court approved 11 days remand.

Why was the hearing held behind closed doors?

The hearing was held in-camera, i.e. in a closed room of the court, so that the sensitivity of the case remains. NIA told the court that custodial interrogation of Anmol Bishnoi is necessary. According to the agency, Anmol’s name is linked to more than 15 murders and more than 20 incidents of kidnapping, intimidation and violence. A case of him having two fake passports has also come to light.

In the remand sheet, NIA has given details of the allegations in detail. The agency says that during interrogation, Anmol will reveal his associates, henchmen and criminal network. Besides this, sources of finance and other secrets will also be revealed, due to which many pending matters will be resolved.

Anmol Bishnoi was absconding since 2022

Anmol Bishnoi was absconding since 2022 and was living in America. The address of the fake passport used for his trip to America was in Faridabad. Anmol is originally from Fazilka, Punjab and his real name is Anmol alias Bhanu. Father’s name is Lavindra Kumar.

Anmol is an accused in many high-profile cases. He was involved in the Sidhu Moosewala murder case and Baba Siddiqui murder. Moosewala was murdered in Mansa on 29 May 2022, for which Anmol and Goldie took responsibility on social media. At the same time, Anmol had also conspired to murder Baba Siddiqui in Bandra, Mumbai on 12 October 2024. Apart from this, Anmol’s name also came up in the firing case at the house of actor Salman Khan in April 2024. A few hours after this firing, it was claimed on social media that this attack was carried out on the instructions of Anmol Bishnoi.

NIA remand will now interrogate Anmol thoroughly so that the network and financial transactions of these crimes can be revealed. This will not only expose many pending cases, but will also enable concrete evidence to be collected against criminal gangs.
