Ram Mandir Ayodhya: Why installation of religious flag in Ayodhya Ram temple only on 25th November?
According to scholars, no temple is considered complete until a flag is hoisted on its peak. The flag installed on the temple also gives an indication about the deity present in that temple and his form. In some temples such a special flag is installed, seeing which it becomes easy to guess which deity is present in this temple.

Symbols of the vehicles, weapons and other things of the deities are also made on the flag of the temple, like a flag with the trident symbol is established in the Devi temple, there is the symbol of Nandi on the flag of Shiva temple, while there is Sudarshan Chakra on the flag of Lord Vishnu's temple. Similarly, black flag is installed on Mata Kali or Bhairav temple and yellow flag is installed on Shri Krishna temple.
According to Narad Purana, wherever the shadow of the flag placed on the top of the temple falls, Kaliyuga does not reside at that place. Therefore this place is considered most sacred. Yagya, havan and puja etc. performed at this place give full results. In earlier times, people used to perform auspicious functions like marriage etc. in or near the temple.
According to Dharma Sindhu Granth, the temple which does not have a flag on its peak is considered to be the abode of demons instead of gods. In such a temple, one does not get full results of puja, yagya etc. This is the reason why a flag is installed on the peak of every temple. It is called Dharma Dhwaja, which means this flag is a symbol of Sanatan Dharma.
