The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has warned of of “possible health risk” amid the recall of some products. Three flapjack products have been recalled due to an undeclared ingredient.

Flapjackery has recalled some Mince Pie Crumble Flapjack products because of undeclared almonds. This is a potential risk to anyone with an allergy.

On its website, the FSA explained: “Flapjackery is recalling Mince Pie Crumble Flapjack products because they contain almonds (nuts) which are not mentioned on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to almonds (nuts).”

The affected products include:

  • Flapjackery Mince Pie Crumble Flapjack, 170g

  • Flapjackery Christmas Towers box, 6 x 85g

  • Flapjackery Rudolph box, 6 x 170g

All these products have a best before date of March 2026. The FSA continued: “Flapjackery is recalling the above products from customers and has contacted the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall. The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers.

“These notices explain to customers why the products are being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the products. Please see the attached notice.”

If you have bought the any of the above products and have an allergy to almonds, the FSA said you must not eat them. Instead you can return them to the store from where they were bought for a full refund.

The FSA added: “Sometimes there will be a problem with a food product that means it should not be sold. Then it might be 'withdrawn' (taken off the shelves) or 'recalled' (when customers are asked to return the product).

“Sometimes foods have to be withdrawn or recalled if there is a risk to consumers because the allergy labelling is missing or incorrect or if there is any other food allergy risk. When there is a food allergy risk, the FSA will issue an allergy alert.”
