The state's forests are a vital region in Central India, home to many important wildlife species, including tigers. This is why Madhya Pradesh has been specifically included in the Nature Lovers category of Travel Plus Leisure's 2026 list. Travelers visiting here can experience tiger safaris in the vast forests, while also witnessing ancient forts, temples, and tribal culture up close. Very few places in India offer such a wonderful blend of wildlife and heritage. Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve,  Madhya Pradesh's largest tiger landscape offers the highest chances of spotting tigers. Panna Tiger Reserve - This reserve, combined with Khajuraho, is known for its backstory and beautiful scenery. Kuno National Park has also become a major attraction for travelers, especially due to India's Project Cheetah.

Best Season for Tiger Sighting

Most of Madhya Pradesh's tiger reserves are open from mid-October to June. These two main seasons are considered the best for safaris. You can visit here from November to February. During this time, the weather is cool, the forests are lush, and the atmosphere is comfortable. This time is considered ideal for family trips. Additionally, you can go tiger sighting from March to May. Although it is hotter during this time, it is considered the best time for tiger sightings, as animals are more visible near water bodies during the summer.
