Broken Things Bring Bad Luck: According to Vastu Shastra, for a home to prosper, the objects in it must be in good condition. If the objects in your home are not in good condition, have become unusable, or are broken, they should be removed from the house. If such objects remain in the house, they bring bad luck. These objects can cause bad times or create Vastu defects, which can negatively impact the health, wealth, happiness, and peace of family members. Let's find out which objects in the house are best to throw out if they are broken.
Keeping broken objects in the house is inauspicious.
1. Idols of God: If an idol of a god or goddess in your prayer room is broken, immediately throw it out of the house, immerse it in running water, or place it under a Peepal or Banyan tree. Keeping such idols in the house creates Vastu defects. According to religious beliefs, worshipping broken idols is prohibited.
2. Mirrors: If a mirror or window pane in your house breaks, it should not be kept in the house for long. Broken glass should be thrown out of the house. This spreads negativity and also causes Vastu defects. Glass is associated with the planet Venus; a damaged glass will affect your Venus.
3. Utensils: If a utensil in your kitchen is broken, remove it immediately. Cooking and eating in a broken vessel is considered inauspicious. Broken utensils bring poverty into the house and anger Goddess Annapurna.
4. Beds and Furniture: A house where a husband and wife share a broken bed is considered inauspicious for their married life. A broken bed can cause bitterness in their marriage. They may face conflict, tension, and unrest in their family life.
5. Clocks: A clock is considered a living thing because it is always running. If this clock stops working or becomes damaged, it should not be kept in the house. A broken clock is considered a sign of bad luck. If the clock is broken or has stopped working, it should be repaired or it should be removed from the house.
