Having never been to Hyde Park's Winter Wonderland before, one thing I had heard about it was that you can rack up costs quickly.
I've lived in the Midlands for most of my life so have never ventured down to London for this annual affair, but I know plenty of people who have.
I thought I'd finally take the trip this year to see what all the fuss is about.
Walking into the site, there's plenty of stalls with everything from fluffy toys to cheesecake.
You won't be short for choice but you might be short for money.
For a ticket into the site, which used to be free, it starts at around £5 for an adult or a child ticket.
At peak times, you're looking at £7.50 - and this is just to get in and walk around.
While inside, I spent a total of £21.60 on food and drinks, but I could have easily spent more.
I paid £8 for a bratwurst sausage which was fairly easy to justify - a Christmas market essential.
At the bar, I then brought a half pint of cider which set me back a further £3.60.
After walking around and exploring, I decided I'd like some churros with Nutella and at £10, this was a bit steep.
If you're looking to enjoy a drink at the market, you can buy a pint of Bavarian Gold for £7.95.
You'll also need to pay a £5 deposit for your stein, but you can get this back if you return your glass.
For a classic mulled wine, you'll be set back by £7.40.
While it's not a cheap day out, a trip to a Christmas market is a once a year occasion.
However, with Christmas already being an expensive season, this might be a place you'd prefer to avoid.
