Tips to Clean Air Purifier: We all know how bad the air quality of Delhi has become and it is difficult to breathe in this bad air, that is why many people have installed air purifiers in their homes. If the air purifier has become dirty then clean it like this.

Air Purifier Cleaning Tips: As soon as winter arrives, the fear of pollution starts in Delhi NCR. In such a situation, air purifiers are installed in many homes now, and it is not easy to stay healthy without it. Everyone knows how dangerous the level of smog, dust and PM2.5 in the air of Delhi-NCR can be. This pollution also makes the air purifier inside the house dirty rapidly. When dust accumulates on the filter, the machine's airflow is restricted, noise increases and the purifier's ability to clean the air in the home reduces. The good thing is that without much effort, you can clean your air purifier like new again in a few easy steps.

Step 1 – Deep cleaning of the outer body

First of all, turn off the air purifier and remove the plug. Thick dust accumulates on the outer body of the purifier, which blocks the airflow. Dampen a light microfiber cloth and gently clean the entire body of the purifier. If you wish, you can also remove dust with a vacuum with a soft brush attachment. With this, the exterior of the machine will immediately appear clean and the air intake will also be better.

Step 2- Wash the pre-filter and remove all the waste

Most air purifiers have a washable pre-filter that prevents dust, hair, and dirt. Take it out and wash it with lukewarm water. Do not use any chemical or soap as it reduces the life of the filter. Drain the water and let it dry completely, otherwise moisture can get inside the machine and damage the machine.

Step 3- Soft cleaning the HEPA filter (do not wash)

HEPA filters should never be washed with water. It contains fine fibers which get spoiled as soon as water comes in contact with it. Simply take it out and gently remove the dust with a gentle shake or vacuum. This removes micro-dust and smog particles to a great extent and the performance of the filter increases again.

Step 4: Killing cleaning of carbon filter

The carbon filter absorbs odours, smoke and gases from the air, hence it gets clogged quickly during smog days in Delhi-NCR. Brush it lightly and keep it in the sun for 1-2 hours. Sunlight reduces the odor accumulated in it and also activates the carbon a little. Remember – this filter is also not washed.

Step 5: Reassemble and do a test run

When all the filters and body are completely dry, fit them back. Start the purifier and run it for 15-20 minutes. Check that airflow has increased, noise has reduced and the air feels fresher. Cleaning in this way increases the life of the purifier and improves its performance during smog days.
