Weather Alert: Once again the disturbance in the Bay of Bengal has intensified. A new low pressure area is forming in the South Bay of Bengal near the Andaman Sea. The Meteorological Department has warned that by the beginning of next week this low pressure will take the form of a dangerous cyclone.
Due to this system, there is a possibility of torrential rain in Andaman-Nicobar Islands, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Mahe, Telangana, parts of Karnataka and Odisha. Heavy to very heavy rain may occur at many places.
Will the storm hit the coast on 26-27 November?
According to IMD, this cyclone may hit the east coast by 26 or 27 November. If it comes towards Tamil Nadu or coastal Andhra Pradesh, there will be heavy rain in South India. But Skymet Weather says that the chances of this happening are less. The biggest fear is that if the storm turns towards West Bengal or Bangladesh then the entire South India will remain dry.
Full possibility of becoming a severe cyclone
Light rain has occurred in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh in the last 48 hours. In the next three days, there may be light to moderate rain with thunder in the interior areas of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. In the next 24 hours, low pressure will form in south-east Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea. This system looks very strong and most of the systems that form in late November turn into strong and severe storms.
