Chandigarh: The grand celebration of the 350th Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, which started from 23rd November at Sri Anandpur Sahib, is creating a unique atmosphere of reverence and devotion in the entire Punjab. This three-day long historic event will conclude on November 25, for which the Punjab government has prepared a detailed outline of special programs. The objective of these programs is not only to create a spiritual environment but also to give a new direction to the Sikh tradition of human service, environmental protection and “Sarbat Da Bhala”.
On the morning of 25th November, Akhand Path Sahib will be offered in the presence of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. This offering will be the holy culmination of three days of continuous Ardaas, which is dedicated to the sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. The importance of this moment is considered very deep in Sikh history, hence special enthusiasm and emotional attachment is being seen among the devotees.
After this, statewide blood donation campaign will start in entire Punjab. Guru Sahiban’s teachings consider service to humanity as the highest religion, and this campaign is being organized to take forward this message. The Punjab government is hoping that thousands of people will set an example of humanity by donating blood on this day.
There will be a huge program to plant 3.50 lakh saplings in the state to save the environment and take forward Guru Sahiban’s message of love for nature. This is not just plantation, but a resolution to connect the coming generations with nature.
Programs like Gurbani Kirtan throughout the day, spiritual meetings and “Sarbat Da Bhala Ekta Kendra” will make the atmosphere more sacred. In this sequence, a statewide organ donation pledge campaign has also been organized, which gives the message of greatness of donating life to the society.
The event will conclude with a grand drone show at Virasat-e-Khalsa in the evening. This show will be a confluence of light, technology and tradition that will present the martyrdom of Guru Sahib and the glorious heritage of the Khalsa Panth in a modern form. These efforts of the Punjab Government have turned this entire gathering into not just a religious event, but a historical festival to humanity, service, history and nature.
