A motorbike repair shop in Dong Hoa Ward lies in chaos, covered in mud after the flood.


According to Dak Lak’s Department of Agriculture and Environment, as of the night of Nov. 21, the floods caused 27 deaths and submerged more than 200,000 homes, with over 18,000 households requiring emergency evacuation; 358 schools and 10 medical stations were damaged.


Nearly 63,000 hectares of crops, more than 100,000 hectares of perennial trees, around 127,000 aquaculture cages, and 1,000 hectares of aquaculture water surface were affected, along with more than 3.5 million livestock swept away. Initial losses are estimated at over 4,500 billion dong, with assessments ongoing.


The provincial chairman has declared a state of emergency for 40 severely affected communes and wards.


The death toll across the central region has amounted to 55 people, with 13 others still missing.
