Patna. Government schools of Bihar are now going to enter a new phase technologically. The Education Department has taken rapid steps towards implementing the online attendance system. Under this system, the attendance of both children and teachers will be recorded directly through digital medium, which will ensure transparency and discipline.

Important apps will be pre-installed

Tablets are being provided by the agency to all types of schools from primary to higher secondary. E-Shikshakosh and other important apps of the education department will be pre-installed in these tablets. Also, keeping the security of the device in mind, they are configured in such a way that no tampering is possible.

Complete monitoring will be done through IMEI number

Bihar Education Project Council has directed the DEOs and DPO-SSA of all the districts to maintain the record of tablet distribution very carefully. The IMEI number of each tablet is being recorded along with the name of the school, so that there is no possibility of any confusion, alteration or misuse in future. Along with this, the data is also being kept safe at BRC level as to how many tablets were allotted to which school.

Training of headmaster and a teacher

To ensure that there is no difficulty in operating the tablet, special training will be given to the headmaster of each school and a teacher interested in the technology. This training will focus on the following tasks. Registering digital presence, generating reports, understanding smooth functioning of apps and devices.

Implementation of online attendance system will bring many positive results. There will be real-time monitoring of students’ attendance. Control on dropouts in schools, transparency in teachers’ attendance, speed up administrative work, improvement in the image and working style of schools.
