Team India has been announced for the upcoming ODI series against South Africa. BCCI announced the team on Sunday. Wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul will take charge of the team in the absence of Shubman Gill. After creating a stir in domestic cricket, Ruturaj Gaikwad has also been included in the ODI team. The three-match ODI series between India and South Africa will start from November 30. Many new faces are included in the 15-member team announced by BCCI. Tilak Verma has been included in the ODI team after his brilliant performance in T20. Wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel has also been included in the team. Indian team for the ODI series against South Africa: Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Tilak Verma, KL Rahul (captain) (wicketkeeper), Rishabh Pant (wicketkeeper), Washington Sundar, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Harshit Rana, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Prasidh Krishna, Arshdeep Singh, Dhruv Jurel.KL Rahul will take command of the team. Shubhman Gill suffered a neck injury in the first Test match against South Africa and he will not be able to play further matches. Gill will also be unavailable for the second Test and the upcoming ODI series. In his absence, KL Rahul will take over the responsibility of captaincy. KL Rahul’s captaincy record: KL Rahul has some experience of captaining the Indian cricket team. He took charge of the team for the first time in January 2022 in the Test match against South Africa at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. Rahul has led India in 12 ODIs, winning eight and losing four. Overall, he has captained in 16 international matches, winning 11 and losing five. His winning percentage is 68.75.
